The Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada conducted the interview selection process for prospective students participating in the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme 2026. The activity was organized as part of the university’s commitment to supporting international academic mobility and preparing students to participate in global learning experiences through collaborative programs among universities in Asia.

The interview session involved prospective student candidates from various study programs within the Faculty of Agriculture who expressed interest in joining the AIMS Programme. During the selection process, participants were assessed on several aspects, including academic readiness, communication skills, motivation to participate in international exchange, adaptability to multicultural environments, and their understanding of the objectives of the AIMS Programme. The interview also provided an opportunity for students to present their aspirations and expectations regarding participation in international mobility activities.

The 19th Annual Review Meeting of the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme was held on 4–6 November 2025 at DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside, Putrajaya, Malaysia. The event was organized by the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (RIHED) with support from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and attended by representatives from governments, universities, students, and alumni across AIMS member countries. I am Vilo Azhar Muska, an Indonesian student who had the privilege of participating in an exchange program at Gyeongsang National University in South Korea. The experience was truly life-changing and opened my eyes to a whole new world of culture, education, and especially personal growth. AIMS Program: Expected Outcomes

ASEAN International Mobility Students Programs (AIMS) aims to create a vibrant student mobility program for citizens of all SEAMEO member countries. Mobility will have a positive impact on academic and cultural development as well as political, social, and economic spheres. The training of skilled university graduates with cross-cultural experience aids labor mobility in the region, thus developing a skilled ASEAN workforce to meet individual countries’ human resources needs. Student mobility provides an infrastructure for students to travel and learn in countries in the region. If promoted, this can lead to the effective circulation of human resources in the region, where countries make use of qualified graduates from other nations. read more

Dear Readers, I am Rane Kiran Anjali, I went to Ibaraki University in Japan for the AIMS 2022 student exchange program. During my time there, I gained a lot of valuable experience. At the Plant Production Science Laboratory, which is led by Professor Sato Tatsuo, I was able to study and learn from discussions, assignments, quizzes, and presentations. I also participated in Japanese language classes and had the opportunity to visit places like the organic tomato garden and farm on campus. In addition, we observed a collection of tractors and even had the chance to drive one. Learning outside the classroom added to our experience and made it more interesting. read more

Student exchange programs have become increasingly popular in recent years, and for good reason. Studying abroad provides me with the opportunity to learn about a new culture, gain valuable language skills, and experience a different educational system. Japan, in particular, is a popular destination for student exchange programs, and it offers a wide range of benefits to international students.

The AIMS Outbound Program is an MBKM program that facilitates student exchanges overseas. This time, I chose to join the program at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) from September 12, 2022, until December 16, 2022, which is equivalent to approximately three months’ worth of time. It was just me, Melodia Rezadhini, representing UGM as the sole outgoing student representative from the university. This program includes a variety of different activities, some of which are academic and some of which are not academic. Aside from that, this program also results in positive aspects that can be taken, such as the positive culture or habits of the Japanese people, which can be adapted to and become a part of one’s everyday life. It is comparable to self-control and determination. Additionally, the relationship between Japanese professors and students at TUAT can be established in order to pave the way for this relationship to one day be mutually beneficial and advantageous. Facilities can be obtained through this program in the form of financial assistance or scholarships from the Faculty of Agriculture at Gadjah Mada University. These facilities can be used to cover the costs of accommodation and day-to-day living expenses while traveling in Japan for a period of three months. TUAT offers a variety of facilities to its students, including monthly rent for dormitories, access to academic accounts at TUAT, a variety of study tours that are also facilitated by the host professors, as well as a selection of insurance options. read more
